Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is a nationally recognized and the State of Arizona's largest not-for-profit organization serving the autism community.
SARRC's high growth has corelated with its intentional shift and expansion from a research and fund development driven organization to a “programs, services and earned revenue balanced” organization.
With this growth and added complexity, comes the need for clear priorities, next steps and alignment within the management team and Board of Directors.
Kim led the leadership team through a detailed Program Scenario Planning, a financial management process.
Working with Kim, the program leaders developed program financial and impact models to understand important aspects of each program including: financial impact, total cost of operation, program sustainability and numbers served.
As a result of the Program Scenario Planning, the SARRC leadership team was able to identify the true cost and contribution of each program, which in turn enabled strategic decision-making in program focus, growth and investments.
The results of this effort is targeted over a million dollars in bottom line improvement over three years, with $600,000 already being achieved in year one.
"Kim led our executive team through scenario planning for several of our key programs and as a result, we are executing a plan that will help us deliver improved financial performance without sacrificing the quality of our service delivery;
in fact, we anticipate that our clients and families will notice program enhancements.
