The Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) is helping to define and shape Arizona's future through an action-oriented agenda. CFA is focused on three strategic imperatives, one of these imperatives is confirming its role as a catalyst for Civic Engagement at the local level.
CFA worked with Kim to design and facilitate a three-part Civic Engagement (CE) community focus group series.
This collaborative focus group process resulted in a first draft of a Civic Health Roadmap and Action Plan, as well as, identified additional important exploration areas.
In an urban school district with 24,000 students, it’s expected that each school will have unique strengths and challenges.
But when leadership at Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) reviewed test scores and other performance, most schools boasted graduation rates hovering around 90 percent, while Coronado High School (CHS) graduation was in the 70s.
Similarly, the school wasn’t sending as many students to state universities, while other SUSD schools were in the top five for college-going youth.
MindUp™ is a signature program of The (Goldie) Hawn Foundation that today serves nearly 1 million children internationally through a K-12 mindfulness curriculum.
The challenge for Goldie and the MindUP leadership team
was to decide "what next" and "how do we prioritize
programs, expansion and investment".
Kim worked closely with the HOV leadership team to develop industry-leading management tools. She led successful strategic planning and leadership development sessions that were both informative and fun.

Live & Learn was a young start-up organization headed straight into high-growth.
The challenge was preparing the organization to sustain its own success and continue to grow and thrive.
In less than three years from inception, Live & Learn became its own successful, financially viable 501c3 organization governed with its own Board of Directors partnering with over 40 community organizations and serving hundreds of women in Arizona.
